CAREER OVERVIEW

Danielle's practice focuses on the representation of construction managers, general contractors, design-builders, joint ventures, and other project participants, including a number of the largest ranked by Engineering News-Record. She has represented clients on a wide variety of private, public, and PPP projects in the US and abroad, including those related to the construction of sports stadiums; entertainment venues; airports; hospitals; hotels; distribution and data centers; facilities for government operations and education; commercial, multi-use, and multi-family residential projects; power-generation, renewable energy, industrial, and infrastructure projects involving pipelines, sewer systems, bridges, and highways.

Ms. Cole collaborates with clients to facilitate the successful procurement, performance, and completion of a construction project by providing counsel, assistance, and advocacy through any and all phases of the project. Her practice activities include: procurement-related services; counsel on business and contract-related considerations/strategies; drafting and negotiating prime contracts, subcontracts, teaming and joint venture agreements, and other ancillary agreements; project counsel and project support services designed to proactively identify, eliminate, mitigate, and resolve project risk-related issues; workforce training; corporate counsel services; claims preparation and defense; and, representation in contentious matters including complex mediation, litigation, and arbitration. She is experienced in addressing and resolving a variety of issues commonly encountered on a project, including those relating to changes, payment, contingency, licensing, insurance, bonds, liens, delays, default, termination, indemnification, defective work, and other contract issues.

Ms. Cole is a frequent speaker and author at the national and local level on a wide variety of construction law-related topics. In 2013, London-based Globe Business Publishing Ltd. published Construction and Infrastructure Disputes: A Global Handbook for which Ms. Cole authored the chapter addressing federal and state laws governing dispute resolution procedures on construction, infrastructure, and PPP projects in the United States.
